MP High Court Issues Notice to State and Union in Writ Petition by Saurabh Tripathi

A Division Bench at Jabalpur directed notice to Madhya Pradesh and the Union of India, returnable within four weeks, in a writ petition filed by Saurabh Tripathi in person.

A Division Bench of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur, comprising Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Pradeep Mittal, took up Writ Petition No. 23726 of 2026 on 14 July 2026. The petition was filed by Saurabh Tripathi, who appeared in person, against the State of Madhya Pradesh and others, including the Union of India.

The State was represented by Shri Anubhav Jain as Government Advocate. The Union of India appeared through Sunil Kumar Jain, Assistant Solicitor General, joined by Shri Dev Sharma as Advocate, both participating through video conference.

Directions Issued

The Bench directed that notice be issued to the respondents. The petitioner was required to pay the process fee within seven working days. Notices were directed to be served by Registered Acknowledgment Due mode and made returnable within four weeks.

Outcome

The matter stands adjourned pending service of notice on the respondents. No further directions or substantive orders were passed on 14 July 2026.
